Cardinal O’Hara High School Brings Christmas Cheer to Children in Need with Operation Santa Claus Wrapping Party and Prayer Service

Cardinal O’Hara High School (COHS) in Springfield (Delaware County) is working to bring Christmas cheer to children in need with its Operation Santa Claus Wrapping Party and Prayer Service.

Each year, COHS partners with charitable organizations throughout the area including Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Annual Archbishop’s Benefit for Children (ABC) Christmas Party to acquire the names and “wish lists” of children in need.

Members of the COHS community, including students and school families, as well as faculty and staff, participate in the program to provide gifts for children who would not have them otherwise. This year, COHS has adopted 516 children for Christmas.

Prior to the wrapping party, COHS students will gather for a prayer service with Father August Taglianetti, COHS’ Director of Campus Ministry.

For over decade, COHS has hosted Operation Santa Claus and fulfilled the wishes of thousands of young people in need throughout the Philadelphia area.
