Bishop John McIntyre to Celebrate Mass at Annual Indian Catholic Heritage Day

Celebrating and faith and many Catholic traditions

Most Reverend John McIntyre, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia, will be the principal celebrant at the opening Mass at the Annual Indian Catholic Heritage Day.

Organized each year by the Indian American Catholic Association of Greater Philadelphia (IACA) and local Indian Catholic communities, Indian Catholic Heritage Day celebrates the rich traditions and cultures of the Syro-Malabar, Syro-Malankara, Latin, and Knanaya communities in the Philadelphia region.

Indian Catholic Heritage Day will include a heritage procession, public meetings, cultural show, and dinner. Sister Gertrude Borres, R.A., Director of the Office for the Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees, will be honored at the IACA meeting and dinner. Amilyn Thomas, a young adult parishioner at Saint Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church, will also be honored for her human right advocacy. All people of goodwill are invited to attend.
