Editor’s Note: The Solemnity of Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples after the Ascension of the Lord. It is observed on the 50th day after Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord. Although this is normally a Holy Day of Obligation, the faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia are dispensed from that obligation this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
