Archdiocese of Philadelphia to Launch Post Papal Visit Vocation Recruitment Program

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is excited to announce the details of a major post Papal visit priestly vocations promotion initiative.

Called by Name will roll-out in all parishes of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on the weekends of November 1 and November 8.  The program aims to get parishioners involved by inviting them to suggest suitable candidates for the priesthood by filling out pew cards.  These names are then reviewed by the Parish Vocation Review Committee and candidates are invited to attend an upcoming discernment event.

To encourage young men to consider the priesthood, a new film, Heed the Call, will also be released.  Produced by the Vocation Office for Diocesan Priesthood and directed by Bill Rose of Joyful Films, Heed the Call will be available on (insert).  Called by Name was created to continue the momentum that started this year when the number of new Philadelphia seminarians increased three-fold.  These and other topics will be addressed at a news conference.
