The Archdiocese of Philadelphia celebrated the national observance of Catholic Schools Week (CSW) from Sunday, January 30, 2022 through Saturday, February 5, 2022. The CSW theme for this year was Faith. Excellence. Service.
Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez participated in his second CSW as shepherd of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. He was joined by Ms. Nancy Kurtz, Interim Superintendent of Secondary Schools for the Archdiocese; Andrew McLaughlin, Ed.D., Secretary for Elementary Education for the Archdiocese; and Danielle Heeney, Ed.D., Director of Special Education for the Archdiocese, to record video messages that spoke to their respective divisions. The messages were shared on the Archbishop’s social media platforms as well as the Archdiocese of Philadelphia School’s platforms.
Archbishop Pérez helped to kick-off the week-long CSW celebration with the first video message. Archbishop said, “Catholic Schools Week is a time for us to showcase the academic and extracurricular achievements of our students, to offer prayerful gratitude for the sacrifices of their parents and guardians, to commend the contributions of teachers, faculty, staff, and administrators, and to recognize all of the parishioners, benefactors, and communities that support and sustain Catholic education throughout the year.”
