Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School in Willow Grove (Montgomery County) and Saint Hilary of Poitiers Parish School in Rydal (Montgomery County) will both host observances to mark Veterans Day on Monday, November 11.
Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School will celebrate Mass followed by a reception focused on appreciation for those who have served in the United States Armed Forces. Veterans and active military personnel who are family members of current students will walk with the children in a procession prior to Mass. Students also have the opportunity to bring a picture of someone who is currently serving in the military to receive a special blessing. In addition, members of the local VFW and American Legion have been invited to attend.

Saint Hilary of Poitiers Parish School will begin their celebrations with a tribute to veterans of the United States Armed Forces in the schoolyard to include the Pledge of Allegiance in American Sign Language, the reading of the Eisenhower Proclamation, and singing of the National Anthem. Members of the parish community who are veterans will be present.
Following the tribute, the school will host a Veterans Day Prayer Service based on the virtues found in The Beatitudes. All Veterans in attendance will receive a special blessing.

In addition, students created a Veterans Day Museum that will be on display on the top floor of the Parish Center. The museum will include
- a Memorial Wall with the names of veterans from Saint Hilary of Poitiers Parish and School;
- a trifold presentation of various topics such as D Day, Pearl Harbor, Medal of Honor Winners;
- Five Video Documentaries of local Catholic Veterans from a historical perspective including one on Michael Crescenz, Medal of Honor Winner and one on Valley Forge;
- Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy Essays on Veterans; and
- a Collection of Artifacts from the Veterans’ Families related to their military service.
