Archbishop Ryan High School to add Girls’ Wrestling as a Varsity Sport this Academic Year

Earlier today, Archbishop Ryan High School (ARHS) announced the addition of Girls’ Wresting as a Varsity sport for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) recently voted to approve girls’ wresting as an official sport effective with the coming season.

“The addition of this program provides our female students an opportunity to compete with top student-athletes in the state and open doors for both their high school years and to compete at the collegiate level,” said Mr. Joseph McFadden ‘97 Principal, Archbishop Ryan High School.

ARHS administrators will interview candidates for the head coaching position in the coming weeks.
