Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, joined by a delegation of more than 150 pilgrims from throughout the five-county Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will journey to Indianapolis for the 10th National Eucharistic Congress July 17- July 21. The National Eucharistic Congress is a major highlight of the National Eucharistic Revival movement. This grassroots endeavor is a response from the Church in the United States to the divine invitation to be united around the source of our faith in the celebration of the Eucharist. It is an initiative of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
In addition to Archbishop Pérez, the delegation from the Philadelphia region includes Bishop John J. McIntyre, Bishop Michael J. Fitzgerald, Bishop Keith J. Chylinski, Bishop Christopher R. Cooke, and Bishop Efren V. Esmilla, members of the Archdiocesan Eucharistic Revival Committee, members of the Hispanic and Migrant Catholic Communities, and members of the African American Catholic Community of Philadelphia.
At the 10th National Eucharistic Congress, faithful from across the nation will gather to experience profound, personal renewal through the power of Christ’s love flowing from his true presence in the Eucharist. Like a new Pentecost, this transformation will bring revival in our communities as the Church returns to her first love—the source and summit of our faith. Speakers for the event include Bishop Robert Barron, Emmy Award winning television host and Bishop of the Diocese of Winona-Rochester, Bishop Andrew Cozzens, Chairman of the Board of the National Eucharistic Congress and Bishop of the Diocese of Crookston, Cardinal Christophe Pierre, Apostolic Nuncio to the United States, and more.
