Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will visit Catholic Charities of Philadelphia’s Community Center at Visitation (CCV) for a special Christmas concert performed by the symphonic group “Gaudemas.”

Archbishop Pérez will be joined by Most Reverend John J. McIntyre and Most Reverend Christopher R. Cooke, Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Leadership from Catholic Charities of Philadelphia including Mrs. Heather Huot, Secretary and Executive Vice President, will also be in attendance.
The concert is dedicated to the residents of Kensington and CCV’s community supporters. The performance will include sacred, classical, and traditional Christmas songs.
Background Regarding the Community Center at Visitation
Located on the grounds of Visitation B.V.M. Parish, Catholic Charities of Philadelphia (CCoP) opened the Cardinal Bevilacqua Community Center to serve children, youth, and families in Kensington in 2003. In 2010, the center was renamed the Community Center at Visitation (CCV) and became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization operating outside of CCoP Most recently, CCV is operated and managed under the auspices of CCoP’s Youth Services Division.
CCV’s mission is to provide a safe place for the children and youth of Kensington, to build meaningful connections, and access resources to improve the quality of life in the neighborhood. The center offers quality resources such as access to healthy food, tutoring, professional development training, and recreational activities.
