Archbishop Nelson J. Perez to Visit Archbishop John Carroll High School to Celebrate Mass and Host “Ask the Archbishop” as Part of National Observance of Catholic School Week

“Ask the Archbishop” is an “AMA” style gathering with students representing Archdiocesan high schools, elementary schools, and schools of special education.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will visit Archbishop John Carroll High School in Radnor (Delaware County) to celebrate Mass and visit the school community.

Reverend Mark Cavara, Archbishop Carroll’s Campus Minister, will concelebrate Mass.  In addition, members of the student body will participate as altar servers and readers. 

Mr. Jay DeFruscio, Chief Operating Officer for Secondary Schools; Ms. Nancy Kurtz, Interim Superintendent of Secondary Schools; Mr. Steven Clement, Senior Director of Enrollment Management for the Office of Catholic Education; Ms. Jennifer Tuberosa, Chief Marketing and Advancement Officer for Secondary Schools; and Mr. Jim Molnar, Director of Human Resources for Secondary Schools will be present along with Andrew McLaughlin, Ed.D, Secretary for Elementary Education; Ms. Bernadette Dougherty, Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools; and Danielle Heeney, Ed.D., Director of Special Education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

After Mass, the Archbishop will tour the school led by Archbishop Carroll students as well as Dr. Patricia Scott, President, and Mr. William Gennaro, Principal.

Following that portion of the Archbishop’s visit, he will host “Ask the Archbishop” in the school’s Student Center. This “AMA” dialogue will include students from Archbishop Carroll, Saint Katharine of Siena Parish Elementary School in Wayne (Delaware County), and Saint Katherine Day School, High Schools Students – Archbishop Carroll Campus.

This conversation provides an opportunity for Archbishop Pérez to hear from students in an environment that fosters greater understanding of his vision about the importance of Catholic education and its lifelong benefits.

Rebecca Wallgren, a member of Archbishop Carroll’s class of 2023, will serve as the emcee.
