The former Saint Leo the Great Church was destroyed by fire last month and was a beloved fixture of the Tacony section of Philadelphia
Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will be the main celebrant of a Mass of Remembrance for the former Saint Leo the Great Church building, which was destroyed in a fire earlier this year.
Saturday, June 19, 2021
11:00 a.m.
6658 Keystone Street
Philadelphia PA 19135
The Mass will take place outside, across the street from where the church originally stood. All are welcome to join former pastors and priests, the Sisters of Saint Joseph, former parishioners, and Tacony residents to remember the church and its importance in the life of the community.
The Mass will be livestreamed at the link below for those who are unable to attend in person on the Walter J. Meyers Funeral Home website.
The organizing committee is led by the former parishioners of Saint Leo Church, graduates of Saint Leo School, the Tacony Civic Association, Councilman Bobby Henon, and City and State leaders.
