Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez Shares Special Video Message Welcoming the Our Mother of Consolation Parish School Community Back to Class Following School Building Fire

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez recorded a special video message for the Our Mother of Consolation Parish School (OMC) community in Chestnut Hill welcoming them back to class in-person for the first time since a fire devastated their school building on March 21st.

Here is the direct link to the Archbishop’s full message, which has also been shared on his social media platforms.

Archbishop Pérez said, “You have faced incredible challenges over the past few weeks after the fire. I’m so proud of the way you pulled together with trust in God. I’m deeply grateful to Father Fisher, Principal Sheetz, and the administration of Chestnut Hill College for getting everyone in the classroom again so quickly. As the road to recovery continues, you are not alone. You have each other and many supportive friends.”

On April 5th, Reverend John Fisher, OSFS, Pastor of Our Mother of Consolation Parish and Patricia Sheetz, Ed.D., Principal of Our Mother Consolation School, shared that an agreement with Chestnut Hill College had been finalized and that all students in grades Pre-K through 8 would resume in-person classes on April 13th at that location for at least the remainder of the current school year.
