Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez Launches 2023 Catholic Charities Appeal and Sets $12.5 Million Fundraising Goal to Benefit Those In Need

The Catholic Charities Appeal benefits hundreds of thousands of people through countless charitable service organizations and ministries throughout the five-county Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

This morning during a news conference at the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center, Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez launched the 2023 Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA). CCA is the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s single largest annual fundraising initiative. This year’s fundraising goal is $12.5 million and the theme is “Giving Hope to All.”

Mr. Ernest W. Russom III, President of the CCA Board of Directors, as well as representatives from CCA beneficiary organizations joined the Archbishop.

“By supporting the Catholic Charities Appeal you will feed the homeless, keep after-school programs open, provide pregnancy support for women, impact programs for individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities, support our parish missions, take care of our retired clergy, and so much more,” said Archbishop Pérez. “The Catholic Charities Appeal’s beneficiaries are impacted every day by your generosity.”

Ms. Angela Babcock, Administrator of Divine Providence Village, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, and Sister Lisa Lettiere, IHM, Principal of Saint Lucy School for Children with Visual Impairments, one of three Archdiocesan Special Education Schools, offered testimonies about the critical impact of the CCA.

Today’s announcement was also streamed to Archbishop Pérez’s Facebook page. To view an archived version of a portion of the broadcast, please visit: https://www.facebook.com/ArchbishopPerez/videos/1241099893284118/.
