“9 Days for Life” is a national initiative sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops; it will take place January 19-27, 2022
Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez encourages faithful throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to join in solidarity with Catholics from throughout the country by prayerful participation in “9 Days for Life,” a pro-life novena sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
On January 22, 2022, our nation marks the 49th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the United States Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal throughout the country. Since that time, millions of children’s lives have been lost to abortion.
The centerpiece of this nationwide prayer effort is a novena with intercessions, brief reflections, and suggested acts of reparation that can be received directly each day through a variety of electronic forms. The “9 Days for Life” initiative provides many ways for people of all ages and circumstances to participate. The novena of prayer also spans the March for Life and is a way to participate spiritually with pilgrims from the Archdiocese who will travel to Washington, DC, on January 21, 2022.
Information regarding “9 Days for Life” is posted on the USCCB website at www.9daysforlife.com. On this site you will find the prayers, programmatic and promotional resources to encourage this nationwide prayer effort. You can also follow along with activities across the country on social media using the hashtag #9DaysforLife. Participants can choose to receive the novena in English and Spanish via email, text message, or a printable online version
