Celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the Catholic Church in Philadelphia
Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will be the principal celebrant and homilist at the 19th Annual Cultural Heritage Mass. The Mass celebrates the rich history and cultural diversity among the faithful of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. It will feature groups representing approximately 30 different nationalities, ethnic and/or Catholic Rite communities.

Catholics from diverse ethnic and immigrant communities gather each year at the Cultural Heritage Mass to celebrate their unity in diversity as Catholics. Many of the participants will dress in native attire and march proudly behind their country’s banner in the opening procession. All are welcome to attend.
In addition to a large procession honoring ethnic diversity, 8 choirs will provide multilingual music throughout the Mass. Scriptures readings and prayers will be proclaimed in eight different languages including Malayalam, Tagalog, Swahili, Konkani, Cantonese, French, Arabic and Akan. Including English, 16 different languages will be spoken or sang at the Cultural Heritage Mass.
The Cultural Heritage Mass is sponsored by the Office for Pastoral Care for Migrants and Refugees.
