Thursday, September 5, 2024
4:30 p.m.
Saint Dorothy Church
4910 Township Line Road
Drexel Hill, PA 19026 (Delaware County)
Father Philip G. Bochanski, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and Father Stephen DeLacy, Vicar for the Office for Faith Formation for Youth and Young Adults for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will preside at the ceremony. In addition, Dr. Andrew McLaughlin, Secretary for Elementary Education for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, will be present as along with other senior administrators from the Office of Catholic Education.
Forty-four schools will be recognized for Growth and Exceeding Potential. Recognition for Growth was determined by comparing the Normal Curve Equivalent (NCE) score from this year’s testing to the NCE examinations taken by students in the previous academic year. These schools were found to have shown a full year’s growth in the total mastery of skills at every level tested using comparative NCE data.
Recognition for Exceeding Potential was determined by analyzing the data from the ability testing (InView) and the achievement testing (Terra Nova) in which schools were found to have a majority of the classes meeting or exceeding their potential in all content areas at every level tested with a growth rate between 76 and 90%.
Holy Redeemer Chinese Catholic School in Philadelphia County, Saint Joseph Parish School in Downingtown (Chester County), Saint Ephrem Parish School in Bensalem (Bucks County) achieved 100% in Growth and Exceeding Potential.
