The Office of Catholic Education’s AoPTech administrators honored forty-four elementary and high school educators named “EdTech Influencers,” “Digital Ambassadors,” and “Social Media Ambassadors” during the week of October 19-October 23, 2020.
This is the second year of the AoP EdTech Influencer and Ambassador awards. As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s awards were announced via AoPTech’s Twitter account @aoptech and on the AoPTech website. During National Digital Citizenship Week, four teachers were recognized at designated times throughout each day. Each post tagged was shared on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools (AOPS) social media platforms.
The AoP’s EdTech Influencer program recognizes members of the Archdiocesan education community who demonstrate exemplary technology integration by engaging, extending, and enhancing learning for all students. The rigorous application process required applicants to demonstrate their utilization of the ISTE Standards, as well as, the Triple E Framework for Technology Integration. Multiple artifacts including lesson plans, student work samples, videos, and pictures were evaluated by the AoPTech team to help the selection committee reach their decisions. The AoP’s EdTech Digital Ambassador award recognizes individuals who present at or create content for AoPTech events. The AoPTech team is grateful for their support, their willingness to collaborate, and their commitment to championing effective classroom technology use. The award also recognizes individuals who consistently engage with AoPTech on social media through the use of the hashtag #AoPTech and by tagging AoPTech members in their posts. Additionally, these educators use social media to share their best classroom practices, ideas, and inspiration with a truly global professional learning network of educators.
