The Archdiocese of Philadelphia to Hold Virtual Celebration for Hispanic Heritage Month

The Hispanic Catholic Community will gather virtually to commemorate its heritage and diversity  

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will commemorate Hispanic Heritage Month with a virtual celebration on Wednesday, October 7, 2020.

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia; Most Reverend Edward M. Deliman, Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia; and Most Reverend Bruce Lewandowski, C.SS.R, Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore, will lead the the virtual gathering.

Beginning at 7:00 p.m. on October 7th the service will be streamed via the Archdiocesan Office for Hispanic Catholics’ Facebook page (facebook.com/HispanosPhilly/).

The Hispanic Chorale of Philadelphia under the direction of Damaris Thillet will provide music. Catholic singer/song writer, Silvia Mariella will perform from Asuncion, Paraguay. All are invited to participate.

The Archdiocese Hispanic Apostolate is comprised of 37 parishes and 3 worship sites. Parishioners hail from Latin America and the Caribbean representing about 23 countries of origin.  

The virtual Hispanic Heritage Celebration is sponsored by the Office for Hispanic Catholics.
