President of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School Named a 2015 Brava Award Winner

After serving as interim President of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School since August 2014, it was announced at the end of June 2015 that Ms. Kassekert would continue as President of the school.

Ms. Denise Kassekert, President of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School, was recently selected as a Philadelphia Brava Award winner by SmartCEO Magazine.  She will be honored with other local recipients at a reception and award ceremony, which will be hosted by the magazine this week. According to their website, “The Brava Awards program celebrates female CEOs, nonprofit leaders and high impact executives who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community. Brava Award winners are exemplary leaders of both their companies and their communities.” In addition to her leadership of Hallahan over the last year, Ms. Kassekert is an accomplished senior business executive bringing more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She held senior positions at Commerce Bank (now TD Bank), Sun Bank and most recently as Executive Vice President, Chief Relationship Officer at Beneficial Bank from 2007-2012.

Since August 2014, Ms. Kassekert, a proud graduate and school board member, has led the Hallahan community as interim President. In a June 2015 letter to the school community, Mr. Christopher Mominey, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary for Catholic Education announced that after consultation with faculty, staff and administration, Ms. Kassekert would remain President of Hallahan.

In response to Mr. Mominey’s announcement, Ms. Kassekert said, “It is truly my pleasure and honor to serve as President of Hallahan. The past year has been one filled with joy, surprise, learning, fulfillment, sacrifice and giving as I have come to know so many of the families, faculty, staff, supporters and graduates who are a part of our wonderful school community. I’m looking forward to an outstanding 2015-2016 school year in partnership with all those who are a part of our vibrant Hallahan community.”
