Nutritional Development Services Celebrates The Completion Of The 2017 Peanut Butter And Jelly Drive

Nutritional Development Services (NDS) of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will celebrate the successful completion of the 2017 Peanut Butter and Jelly (PB&J) Drive in conjunction with nearly 40 schools and Parish Religious Education Programs (PREP).

Thursday, October 26, 2017
12:00 p.m.
Villa Maria Academy’s Lower School
1140 King Road
Immaculata, PA 19345 (Chester County)

NDS will recognize students from Villa Maria Academy’s Lower School, a private Catholic school for girls in grades kindergarten through eight, for participation and continued support of NDS’ PB&J Drive. Villa Maria will represent all participating programs, and the nearly 40,000 pounds of peanut butter and jelly NDS anticipates to collect by the end of the drive.

Brooke Mullen, Assistant Director of Community Relations for NDS said, “The PB&J drive continues to be a success for our participating religious education programs and schools.  We are extremely grateful for the hard work of Villa Maria and all of our participating programs donating their time and efforts to serving our communities. Peanut butter and jelly is not only a great, high protein snack, it is a pantry staple for many of our participating cupboards.  We look forward to this drive every year as a fun way for the students to help restock pantry shelves for the fall and winter seasons.”

NDS provides meals, food assistance, and additional support to organizations serving children and the poor as an extension of the services and mission of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The annual PB&J drive helps to stock the shelves of 40 food cupboards located throughout the five county metropolitan area.

NDS accomplishes its mission in two distinct ways: by administering the federally-funded child nutrition programs and through the privately supported Community Food Program.
