**Media Advisory** Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez to Hold News Conference Launching 2021 Catholic Charities Appeal

Archbishop Pérez will announce this year’s fundraising goals and highlight the impact the initiative has on those served by the charitable and educational ministries of the Archdiocese.

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will launch the 2021 Catholic Charities Appeal (CCA) at a special news conference. CCA is the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s single most important fundraiser benefiting hundreds of thousands of people through countless organizations and ministries throughout the five-county Archdiocese.

Archbishop Pérez will be joined by Mr. William “Bill” J. Phelan, IV, Esq., President of the CCA Board of Directors, as well as representatives from CCA beneficiaries including Mr. Patrick Walsh, Director of Programs at Martha’s Choice Marketplace, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS); and Kathleen Clark from Lily’s Gift, a collaboration between the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office for Persons with Disabilities, The Office of Life and Family, and CSS, which provides support to families with prenatal diagnosis. All will offer brief remarks.

The news conference will take place with adherence to guidelines set forth by governmental health agencies. It will also be streamed live beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Archbishop Pérez’s Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/ArchbishopPerez.

Still Photography

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, still photographers will not be permitted in the Auditorium. Pool coverage for still photos will be provided to Catholic and secular media by the Archdiocesan Office for Communications. Please contact Sarah Webb, [email protected].   

Video and Audio Feeds

Given limitations on group size inside the Auditorium, no television cameras will be permitted inside the Auditorium. As it has done with previous special events, including the Mass celebrated by Pope Francis in 2015, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will provide a direct broadcast feed for all media outlets.

Video and audio mult-box clean feeds will be available with multiple HD-SDI video (BNC) and mic/line (XLR) connections. Media trucks can access an external mult-box located at the loading dock in the parking lot at the rear of the Archdiocesan Pastoral Center.
