DEATH OF PERMANENT DEACON BROUYCIE P. ISLEY
1949 – 2018
Deacon Brouycie P. Isley, Permanent Deacon, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, from natural causes. He was 69 years old. Deacon Isley was born on March 5, 1949.
Deacon Isley resided in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. He was married to the former Carmen Copper for 40 years. They have one son, Demetrius, currently deployed with the United States Army. Deacon Isley also has four grandchildren: Destiny; Jalen; Denetria; Desire´a.
Deacon Isley was ordained by Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua on June 10, 2001, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. He was assigned to Immaculate Conception Parish, Philadelphia. On April 5, 2011 Deacon Isley’s assignment was transferred to Saint Helena Parish, Philadelphia.
Reception of the Body, and a viewing, will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Saint Helena Church, 6161 North Fifth Street, Philadelphia, beginning at 9:00 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Most Reverend Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. will celebrate Deacon Isley’s Funeral Mass. The Deacon of the Mass and homilist will be Deacon James Mahoney.
