The Foundation for Catholic Education (FCE) is proud to announce that it recently purchased the former Saint Pius X High School building located on North Keim Street in Lower Pottsgrove (Montgomery County) for $1,000,000. The FCE has generously presented the building to Saint Aloysius Parish School, which will move to this new location beginning with the 2017-2018 academic year.
Reverend Monsignor Joseph T. Marino, President of FCE, and Mr. Jerry Parsons, Vice-President of FCE, will make a key presentation outside the front entrance of the new school campus to Father Joseph Maloney, Pastor of Saint Aloysius Parish and Mrs. Sarah Kerins, Principal of Saint Aloysius Parish School.

Administrators from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Office of Catholic Education (OCE) will also be in attendance including Mr. Christopher Mominey, Secretary for Catholic Education, and Mrs. Debra Brillante Superintendent for Elementary Schools.
During the presentation, an opening prayer and blessing will be delivered by Father Joseph Maloney. Remarks will be given by Mrs. Kerins. A closing prayer will be offered by Monsignor Marino. Following the program an informal gathering with balloons will take place outside of the school.

We are pleased to establish this partnership with Father Joseph Maloney, Sarah Kerins and the whole St. Aloysius Parish Community in providing their students with a wonderful educational facility to learn, grow and reach their full potential. This new location at the former St. Pius X High School will continue to help the St. Aloysius students develop into strong individuals guided by faith and knowledge,” said Jerry Parsons, Executive Vice President of the Foundation for Catholic Education, Co-Chair of the Executive Board of Elementary Education.
The former high school will be the new home for approximately 250 students from Saint Aloysius and replaces the current landlocked campus that offers limited expansion opportunity. Currently, students are divided among four separate buildings and the layout requires them to walk outside to participate in special activities and lunch. Additionally, play areas and grassy fields are limited in the current location. With the increase in population in the Pottstown area and the expansion of the academic and fine arts programming at Saint Aloysius, the school is poised to increase enrollment.
The Saint Aloysius parish and school community, in a grass roots effort, has raised over $675,000 dollars to pay for needed repairs to their new school. FCE, based in West Chester, will lease the building to Saint Aloysius for $1 a year. This visionary project, under the direction of Father Maloney and Mrs. Kerins, came to fruition in less than 12 months. The school will open in its new location beginning in September 2017.
