Dr. Haas was the inaugural holder of the Krol Chair from 1990-1996 and now returns to Saint Charles Seminary after a 22-year tenure as President of the National Catholic Bioethics Center. 

Every January starts a new year and has a number of important dates.  The week of January 18-25, for example, is the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.  But for many millions of Americans, the central day of the month is the memorial of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the great voice for racial justice. 

In mid-November, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia published audited financial statements for The Office for Financial Services, its Pastoral Center entity, for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018. Those statements reported a core operating result with a surplus of $1.3 million for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2018. They also illustrated a cumulative improvement of $271.9 million against underfunded balance sheet obligations since June 30, 2012.

Dedicated volunteers from Bucks County will host the fifth annual Children’s Christmas Brunch for more than 120 young children and their families, most of whom are served by the Bucks County Family Service Center.

Saint Anne’s Senior Community Center will hold its annual Christmas party for nearly 50 older adults. Saint Anne’s is a ministry of Catholic Housing and Community Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
