The City of Philadelphia has established Thursday, February 8, 2018 as the date for the public celebration and parade for the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Given projected city street closures and heavy demands on public transportation in the Philadelphia region, Archdiocesan high schools and parochial elementary schools in the City of Philadelphia will be closed on February 8th.
In order to permit members of all our school communities to participate in this celebration, Archdiocesan high schools in the suburban counties will also be closed on February 8th. The vast majority of parish based elementary schools in the suburban counties will be closed on February 8th as well. However, a small number have elected to remain open. Parents of elementary school students in the suburban counties should check with their local school to confirm closure status.
The Archdiocese of Philadelphia continues to extend its prayerful congratulations and best wishes to the Philadelphia Eagles on their historic victory in Super Bowl LII! Thank you for bringing the Lombardi Trophy home to the City of Brotherly Love!
