The Sisters of Life to Host Evening of Prayer and Caroling at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul

All people of good will are invited to join the Philadelphia Sisters of Life for an evening of prayer and caroling.

The evening will begin with the celebration of a Mass of Thanksgiving for the life and priestly service of the late John Cardinal O’Connor on the 77th anniversary of his Ordination to the Priesthood. Cardinal O’Connor was a native Philadelphia and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. While serving as the Cardinal Archbishop of New York, he founded the Sisters of Life in 1991.  Mass will be followed by Christmas caroling with stops at Love Park and City Hall.

Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided.

Editor’s Note: The Sisters of Life are a contemplative Roman Catholic community of women religious who profess the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. They were founded in New York in 1991, and received formal approbation as a religious institute in 2004, under Cardinal Edward Egan. The Philadelphia Sisters of Life established their convent in 2017 and moved into Saint Malachy Parish. Their mission includes serving pregnant women by giving them the support and resources to be able to choose life for themselves and their children.
