Members of the Archdiocesan Class of 2022 Earned a Remarkable $449,306,750 in Scholarships to Attend Colleges and Universities Across the Country

Nancy Kurtz, Interim Superintendent for Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, and Jay DeFruscio, Chief Operating Officer for Secondary Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, came together to unveil the cumulative scholarship total earned by the Archdiocesan  Class of 2022. This year’s graduating seniors amassed an astounding $449,306,750 to further their educational journeys at colleges and universities across the country.

In making this announcement Ms. Kurtz said, “On behalf of our colleagues in the Office of Catholic Education, and the foundations and benefactors supporting our schools, we commend the members of the Class of 2022 for their hard work and achievements.”

The announcement was made via a brief video and includes images from each Archdiocesan high school graduation. The message was shared on the Archdiocese of Philadelphia Schools (AOPS) social media platforms on Facebook and on Instagram.

In addition, Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez recently shared an end of year message to all Archdiocesan school families, faculty, staff and administrators, and especially to the Class of 2022. In it he said, “You’ve worked hard, formed lasting bonds, and accomplished so much inside and outside the classroom.  I pray that you will go forth into the next chapter of your lives with the zealous heart of a missionary disciple to encounter the world for Christ. Congratulations to you and all those who have supported you along the way.”
