Media Advisory-Photo Opportunity: Archdiocesan Students and Nutritional Development Services Team Up to Fight Hunger
Nearly 50,000 pounds of peanut butter and jelly collected to stock local food cupboards
Nutritional Development Services (NDS) of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will celebrate the successful completion of its 2016 Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive in conjunction with Archdiocesan schools.
NDS will recognize students from Saint Aloysius Academy, a private Catholic school for boys in grades K-8Th, for its participation and continued support of NDS’ PB&J Drive, other year-round food collection efforts, and the Walk against Hunger. Saint Aloysius academy is representing 50 participating schools which participated in this year’s PB&J collection.

Nearly 50,000 pounds of peanut butter and jelly have been collected since the beginning of the drive on September 12, 2016. Saint Aloysius Academy’s goal was to collect 500 jars. Students were divided by home rooms, half collected peanut butter and half collected jelly.

Nutritional Development Services provides meals, food assistance and additional support to organizations serving children and the poor as an extension of the services and mission of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
