#IGiveCatholic Giving Day Takes Place in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on #GivingTuesday

Archdiocese of Philadelphia and The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia partner to support this national Catholic Day of Giving.

The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) partnered with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to participate in #iGiveCatholic for the second year in a row, and today is the official #iGiveCatholic Giving Day.

#iGiveCatholic is celebrated annually on #GivingTuesday, which follows Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. #iGiveCatholic is a Giving Day that kicks off the charitable season and brings the Catholic community together to give thanks and give back. For the second year in a row, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia joined CFGP in promoting this special, faith-based giving day, with support from Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia.

“The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s participation in #iGiveCatholic presents an opportunity for Catholics to affirm their faith as disciples of Jesus Christ by sharing their gifts out of love for God and one another. It also gives parishes, schools, and nonprofit ministries the chance to rally support for their individual organizations and make a difference in their community, with the goal of raising as many funds as possible.” said Archbishop Pérez.

In this second year of participation, 166 Archdiocesan organizations registered to participate.

Giving towards the #iGiveCatholic initiative will remain open until midnight tonight. Those wishing to make a gift to a participating Archdiocesan organization may visit Philadelphia.igivecatholic.org and select the organization they wish to support. Editor’s Note: #iGiveCatholic will celebrate its seventh year in 2021, with 40 Archdioceses and Dioceses having participated in 2020. Created and launched in the Archdiocese of New Orleans, #iGiveCatholic celebrates Catholic heritage, encourages philanthropy, and inspires faithful stewards to “Give Catholic” on #GivingTuesday, the global day of giving that is celebrated the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, #GivingTuesday will be celebrated on November 30, 2021.
