Archbishop Chaput Calls For Relief Efforts To Support Victims Of Hurricane Matthew

Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap. has asked that all parishes in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia consider taking up a one-time, special collection on a weekend of their choosing during the month of November to support continued relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Matthew.

This special collection is part of a national initiative called for by Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz, President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, to benefit the victims of natural disaster throughout the nation.

All contributed funds will support Catholic Charities’ USA, which is providing aid to victims of Hurricane Matthew in this country, and Catholic Relief Services (CRS), which is providing aid to the people of Haiti and other victims of the same storm.

Individuals may also contribute directly to Catholic Charities USA by visiting https://www.catholiccharitiesusa.org/ or to Catholic Relief Services by visiting www.crs.org.
