The Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul To Commemorate Her Human Rights Work and that of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Shrine of Saint Katharine Drexel will host an engaging talk, “Martin Luther King, Jr. and Saint Katharine Drexel: Champions of Justice,” by Bucks County Human Relations Council board member and Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament associate, Joyce Hadley.

The presentation will take place in the Chapel of Our Lady of The Blessed Sacrament, and will highlight the important human rights work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Saint Katharine Drexel.  Mass follows at 12:05 PM in the Chapel.

Joyce Hadley is a board member of the Bucks County Human Relations Council and is currently an associate of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament (ASBS), the religious order founded by Saint Katharine Drexel. She is the past Assistant National Director for ASBS, and currently serves as the Chair of the Social Justice Committee for the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. She formerly served as Secretary and Vice President of the Bucks County NAACP, where she was awarded the NAACP Community Service Award. Her outstanding philanthropic work has also brought a multitude of other awards and recognition, including the Martin Luther King, Jr., Service Award from Bensalem High School, the Legends in Peace Award from The Peace Center, and the Al Krass Peace Award from The Interfaith Community of Bucks County.
