The Flyers Face-Off for Fitness program is a 45-minute hockey fitness program developed for young students that stresses the importance of living a healthy lifestyle through nutrition and physical activity. The objective of the program is to heighten awareness and provide information to help kids make positive nutritional and behavioral choices.

Brooke Mullen, Assistant Director of Community Relations for NDS said, “NDS is thrilled to partner with Saint Helena Incarnation School and the Flyers Face-Off for Fitness program during the 2018 Every Kid Healthy Week!  This event is a wonderful way to engage students in physical activity while emphasizing the importance of eating well. Creating a holistic school wellness environment that includes nourishing school meals and opportunities for children to be active during the school day is wonderful for instilling healthy habits for a lifetime of wellness.”

Every Kid Healthy Week is observed during the last full week of April each year. This special week was created to celebrate school health and wellness achievements. In addition, it shines a spotlight on the great efforts schools are making to improve the health and wellness of their students.

Saint Helena Incarnation School is one of 100 schools located throughout the Philadelphia region that has partnered with NDS for the 2017-2018 academic year. NDS partners with these schools to administer the federally funded National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP) to ensure more 30,000 students have access to breakfast and lunch during the school day.
