Seminarians Move-In To Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary To Kick-Off 2019-2020 Academic Year

The College and Theology seminarians of Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary will return to campus to mark the start of the academic year on Tuesday, August 20th beginning with registration and moving-in to the residence halls.

 Bishop Timothy C. The Seminary anticipates an overall enrollment of 165 seminarians for the 2019-2020. Of the 44 new seminarians, 19 are seminarians studying for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, six are entering the college seminary while 13 are entering the Spiritual Year, Pre-Theology or ESL. In total, there are 75 new or returning seminarians for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, studying at St. Charles.

Saint Charles’ seminarian population is becoming increasingly diverse with approximately 30% of its students now coming from Asian, Latino, or African countries or nationalities.

Opening week at the seminary will include campus tours, in which returning seminarians will pair with new seminarians and their families to tour the grounds and facilities.  Group activities such as daily Mass and day trips are also planned during the first week.  Fall classes for the College and Theology seminarians of Saint Charles Borromeo officially begin on Thursday, August 22, 2019.
