American Swedish Historical Museum
1900 Pattison Avenue
Philadelphia, PA 19145

The Maguire Foundation will be presented with the SJH 2017 Partner in Mission Award for its efforts to improve the quality of life for people by investing in education, arts and humanities, and relief of hunger and homelessness.

Founded by Mr. and Mrs. James J. Maguire on October 2, 2000, The Maguire Foundation is rooted in the belief that education builds a solid foundation for success. It has built and continues to build a growing network of partners to support education in the arts and humanities and to alleviate hunger and homelessness. Through these networks, the foundation helps to rebuild communities and enrich resources, serving those who are poor, unemployed, hungry, homeless and suffering.

For over 45 years, SJH has provided crucial and life-sustaining services with dignity, respect, and compassion. Each weekday, this outreach ministry provides a nutritious and hot noon meal for more than 400 men, as well as case management services, on-site nursing services, daily showers, and mailroom services for over 1,000 men. Each year, it provides residential services for over 250 men transitioning from homelessness to independent living in the community.

All food and drinks for the evening will be generously provided by Tootsie’s Salad Express of the Reading Terminal Market.
