Saint John Chrysostom Parish to Receive Loyola Press Opening Doors Award

A parish community engaging parishioners with disabilities in the life of the parish

Saint John Chrysostom Parish will receive Loyola Press’ 2015 Opening Doors Award. Loyola Press, in partnership with the National Catholic Partnership on Disability (NCPD), honors parish communities that demonstrate inclusion and engagement practices that facilitate the participation in the parish of people with disabilities.

Saint John Chrysostom Parish was chosen for this national award for demonstrating a deep commitment to parishioners with disabilities and providing access for full participation in all aspect of parish life.

The Opening Doors Award will be presented to Pastor, Rev. Edward J. Hallinan, and his parish following Mass. Sister Kathleen Schipani, IHM, Director of the Office for Persons with Disabilities and Deaf Apostolate for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and NCPD board chairwoman will present the award along with Ms. Jan Benton, executive director of NCPD.  

State Representative, Leanne Krueger-Braneky, who represents Delaware County, will present a citation to the parish. It will congratulate the parish on the award and acknowledge its efforts on behalf of community members with disabilities.
