Saint Anne’s Senior Community Center to Kick Off Spring Season with Gardening Project

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s Catholic Healthcare Services’ Saint Anne’s Senior Community Center will kick off the spring season with volunteer projects at Greensgrow.

Saint Anne’s members will volunteer at Greensgrow painting birdhouses to be used in the garden and community and pruning and repotting plants left over from the 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show. Members of the Clay Creations class will sketch “Milkshake” the pig for future project collaboration and fundraising to help feed Milkshake and friends.

Earlier this year, Saint Anne’s Senior Community Center was selected by the National Institute of Senior Centers (NISC) as a 2014 Program of Excellence. Saint Anne’s was recognized for Leadership, Civic Engagement and Community Development Award for their urban farming partnership with Greensgrow Farms.
