Rev. Mr. Matthew Brody to be Ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Chaput

The Rev. Mr. Matthew Brody, 26, son of Mr. James Brody and Mrs. Karen Brody, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.

A native of Philadelphia, Rev. Mr. Brody has been serving as a transitional deacon at Holy Innocents Parish in Philadelphia for the past year. He attended Bridal Path Elementary School (2003) in Lansdale, PA, Pennbrook Middle School (2006) in North Wales, North Penn High School (2009) in Lansdale, PA, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts (2013), Master of Divinity (2016) and his Master of Arts (2017) degrees from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood.

The homilist will be Reverend Martin Cioppi. Concelebrants include Reverend Monsignor John T. Conway, Reverend Monsignor Philip Ricci, and Reverend Monsignor Michael Magee, and Reverend John C. Nguyen.

There are two men from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the Ordination Class of 2017.

Editor’s Note: The newly ordained priests will be assigned, at the conclusion of the Ordination Mass, to an Archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish.
