Rev. Mr. Eric J. Banecker to be Ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Chaput

The Rev. Mr. Eric J. Banecker, 29, son of Mr. Eric F. and Mrs. Joanne Banecker, will be ordained to the Priesthood by Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, O.F.M. Cap.

A native of Philadelphia, Rev. Mr. Banecker has been serving as a transitional deacon at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish in North Wales, PA, for the past year. He attended Epiphany of Our Lord Parish School (2003) and Roman Catholic High School (2007) in Philadelphia, PA. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (2011) from the University of Pennsylvania, his Master of Divinity (2017) and Master of Arts (2018) Degrees from Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, Wynnewood.

The homilist will be Reverend Joseph W. Bongard. Concelebrants include Reverend Monsignor Charles Vance, Reverend Monsignor John Conway, Reverend Monsignor Kevin Lawrence and Reverend Robert Pesarchick.

There are six men from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the Ordination Class of 2018.


Editor’s Note: The newly ordained priests will be assigned, at the conclusion of the Ordination Mass, to an Archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish.
