Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will ordain ten men to the priesthood on

10:00 a.m.
Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul
18th Street and Benjamin Franklin Parkway

Ordination will take place during the Mass, following the homily. At the end of May, each of the newly ordained priests will be assigned to a parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Cardinal to assist the pastor of a parish.

Those being ordained are: Rev. Mr. Anthony M. Bozeman, Rev. Mr. James R. Casey, Rev. Michael A. Filippello, Rev. Mr. Joseph R. Hess, Rev. Mr. Mark S. Kunigonis, Rev. Mr. Christopher B. Rogers, Rev. Mr. Dominic Rossi, Rev. Mr. Joseph Shenosky, Rev. Mr. Patrick J. Welsh and Rev. Mr. Eugene C. Wilson.
All have completed studies at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood.

The Class of 2000 includes four graduates of Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia (all from different years). One Seminarian has a brother and two uncles who are priests. Before entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, the ten men held diverse positions such as U.S. Air Force technician, mechanical engineer and letter carrier. One seminarian collects movie memorabilia while another is an artist. The average age of the Class of 2000 is 34.
