Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will sponsor a clean-up of Finnegan Park in Southwest Philadelphia. Teaming up with Catholic Social Services are the insurance companies AIG and Willis\Corroon. Finnegan Playground is the second largest recreation facility in Philadelphia. Approximately 40 volunteers in matching tee shirts will clean up trash, mend fences and garden.

The clean up is an extension of the Cluster Pastoral Plan of Cluster 33 in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The Cluster Pastoral Plan was approved in January of 1998. One of the goals of the plan was to renew the presence of Catholic Social Services in Cluster 33. Cluster Pastoral Planning is a prayerful reflective grassroots process in which priests and parishioners work together to maintain the vitality of the Church in their neighborhoods. Cluster 33 is made up of 11 parishes.


Editor's note: The parishes in Cluster 33 are: St. Agatha-St. James, St. Barnabas, St. Carthage, St. Clement, St. Francis de Sales, Good Shepherd, St. Irenaeus, St. Mary of Czestochowa, Most Blessed Sacrament, Our Lady of Loreto and Transfiguration of Our Lord.
