Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will make three pastoral visits throughout the Archdiocese during the month of July. At each of these visits, Cardinal Bevilacqua will minister to the spiritual needs of the residents.

Mercy Hospital

Founded in 1918 by the Sisters of Mercy, and a member of Mercy Health System, Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia was known as Misericordia Hospital until 1997. Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia is a 286-bed acute-care, community teaching hospital. Cardinal Bevilacqua will tour the facility and visit with patients.

Montgomery County Correctional Facility

Norristown, PA

The Montgomery County Correctional Facility was built in 1986 with a capacity of 572 men and women. Renovations were completed this year, and the facility now houses 1,209 inmates. Cardinal Bevilacqua will tour the facility and visit with the residents, both men and women. Please see Editor's Note regarding coverage.

Little Flower Manor

In addition to visiting with each of the residents at Little Flower Manor, Cardinal Bevilacqua will say Mass during his visit and bless the facility's new Alzheimer's Unit. Little Flower Manor is a skilled nursing facility housing 127 residents.

Editor's Note: Time-permitting, media may get footage of Cardinal Bevilacqua entering/exiting the prison and/or a brief interview outside, but for security reasons, video cameras will not be allowed inside the prison. Reporters and still cameras will be permitted inside, but there will be some restrictions. Tape recorders are allowed. We will try to be accommodating, but we are restricted by the security rules of the correctional facility.
