Our Lady of Confidence Day School Named School of Excellence by the National Association of Special Education Teachers

Our Lady of Confidence Day School is one of four Archdiocesan Schools of Special Education

Our Lady of Confidence Day School (OLC), located in Willow Grove (Montgomery County), has been recognized by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) as a School of Excellence.

This honor is the highest one that a private special education school can achieve through the professional association. OLC is the first Archdiocesan school of special education to be bestowed with this honor.

OLC serves students with intellectual disabilities and developmental delays at two locations. Students ages three to 14 attend OLC’s Saint David Parish Site in Willow Grove and students ages 15 to 21 attend OLC’s Bishop McDevitt Site located in Wyncote (Montgomery County).

According to the NASET website, this recognition is bestowed on private special education schools that meet rigorous professional criteria and have demonstrated truly exceptional dedication, commitment, and achievement in the field of special education.

For the comprehensive list of criteria please visit, https://www.naset.org/2592.0.html#c12109.

OLC opened its doors in the fall of 1954 to educate children with special needs in a Catholic environment. The school’s mission is to facilitate the complete development of the students with intellectual disabilities to their fullest potential, spiritually, intellectually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. OLC’s program embraces the value of life and is committed to guiding students toward seeking God’s purpose for their life and fostering independence to become vital, contributing members of the local community and the greater global society.
