Nutritional Development Services Partners With Project Isaiah to Facilitate Delivery of 8,000 Boxed Meals to Those Impacted By the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

The Project Isaiah initiative aims to deliver meals across the United States to those impacted by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic while also preserving food service industry jobs.

Individuals and families who are in need of healthy and nutritious meals are receiving ongoing assistance in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic thanks to a partnership between Nutritional Development Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the non-profit Project Isaiah.

Project Isaiah, which partners with airline catering company Gate Gourmet, will deliver approximately 8,000 boxed meals per week to be distributed at NDS sponsored sites across the Philadelphia region to those facing a food emergency brought on by COVID-19. Distribution locations include NDS supported feeding sites, food pantries and diaper distribution points.

In addition, this critical outreach effort will also benefit individuals, seniors, and families served by other Archdiocesan ministries including Catholic Housing and Community Services (CHCS), Catholic Social Services (CSS), the Office for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Refugees, as well as Mother of Mercy House in Kensington.

Mr. James Amato, Secretary for Catholic Human Services said, “The generosity of Project Isaiah is vital in sustaining and strengthening Catholic Human Services’ numerous community food resource programs across the Greater Philadelphia region. We are thankful to the donors that have stepped up in these difficult and challenging times.”
