Reverend Raymond J. Himsworth, Pastor Emeritus, Saint James Parish, Elkins Park, died on Friday, November 27, 2020.

Father Himsworth was born on June 19, 1934, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late James J. Himsworth. and late Mary E. McCabe Father Himsworth attended Fairview Public School, Saint Francis, and Saint Eleanor Parochial School, Collegeville, and Roman Catholic High School Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. Father Himsworth was ordained on May 19, 1962, at The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John J. Krol. Father Himsworth served as Parochial Vicar, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Doylestown; Saint Cecilia Parish, Coatesville, Saint Gabriel Parish, Norwood; Incarnation Parish, Philadelphia; and Visitation B.V.M. Parish, Philadelphia. In 1982 he was appointed Pastor at Saint Michael Parish, Chester. In 1989 he was appointed Pastor at Saint James Parish, Elkins Park, and named Pastor Emeritus in 2009.

The Reception of the Body will be held at Saint James Church, Elkins Park on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 9:00 AM, followed by a viewing. Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, D.D. will celebrate the Funeral Mass for Father Himsworth at Saint James Church, Elkins Park, on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at 11:00 AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor Donald F. Leighton, Reverend Monsignor Philip J. Cribben, Reverend Monsignor Michael T. McCulken. Reverend Thomas P. Kletzel will be the homilist.

Father Himsworth is survived by his sister Margaret Annas, sister-in-law Joan, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Internment will be at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Norristown.
