REVEREND DAVID A. DOYNE

 1929- 2016

 Reverend David A. Doyne, Pastor Emeritus, Holy Martyrs Parish, Oreland, died at Saint Francis Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, Darby, on Saturday, January 9, 2016.

Father Doyne was born on July 22, 1929, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the son of the late Edward T. Doyne and the late Cecelia C. Kline. Father Doyne attended Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Parochial School, Philadelphia, and Roman Catholic High School, Philadelphia, before entering Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

Father Doyne was ordained on May 10,1956, at Immaculate Conception Church, Germantown, Philadelphia, by Most Reverend John F. O’Hara, C.S.C. Father Doyne served as Parochial Vicar at Saint Mary Parish, Saint Clair; Saint Bernard Parish, Easton; Saint Helena Parish, Center Square; and Resurrection of Our Lord Parish, Chester. Father Doyne also served on the Faculty, Saint Pius X High School, Pottstown. He also served as Chaplain at Saint Francis Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, Darby; and as Rector, Villa Saint Joseph, Darby. Father Doyne served as Pastor, Saint Ann Parish, Phoenixville, and Holy Martyrs Parish, Oreland. He was named Pastor Emeritus, Holy Martyrs Parish, in 1999. He also served as Senior Priest at Saint Stanislaus Parish, Lansdale.

The Reception of the Body will be held on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at 9:00 AM. at Saint Francis Center for Rehabilitation & Healthcare, Darby, followed by a viewing. Most Reverend John J. McIntyre will celebrate a Funeral Mass for Father Doyne at 11:00AM. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass will be Reverend Monsignor William A. Dombrow, Reverend Monsignor Daniel J. Sullivan, and Reverend Joseph T. Shenosky. Father Shenosky will be the homilist.

Father Doyne is survived by his nieces. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchure Cemetery Philadelphia.
