Catholic Social Services Partners With Saint Raymond Of Peñafort Parish To Host Free Baby Shower For The Community
As part of its “Respect Life Month” observance, Saint Raymond of Peñafort has partnered with Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS) to host a baby shower for expectant mothers in the local community.
Celebrated annually during the month of October, “Respect Life Month” encourages the Catholic community to promote a culture that cherishes life.

Nearly 100 expectant mothers and their families have been expected to attend the free baby shower. Each will receive a free gift for their baby, as well information about CSS support services. Dedicated CSS staff will be onsite to teach prenatal and parenting classes and help connect families to resources.
In addition, the Saint Raymond of Peñafort parish community will generously provide a moon bounce for children as well as food. There will be a DJ, raffles, games, and more.
Throughout the greater Philadelphia region, young women and mothers regularly turn to CSS Family Service Centers for emotional support and essential parenting resources needed to best care for their families. These centers offer comprehensive services such as counseling, mentoring, education assistance, adoption counseling, and enrollment in benefit programs, as well as providing prenatal and parenting support groups.
Each year, CSS assists more than 5,000 pregnant women. In addition, it was recently named “Service Provider of the Year” by Real Alternatives for the sixth consecutive year. Real Alternatives is a non-profit, charitable organization in Pennsylvania that administers pregnancy and parenting support services.
