Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul to Host Virtual Day of Celebration for Annual Keys and Sword Initiative

This annual initiative serves as the principal fundraising effort for the Cathedral Basilica
of Saints Peter and Paul, the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul will hold a virtual program to celebrate its  annual Keys and Sword Initiative beginning on Monday, August 24th. The five-day program will culminate with a “Day of Celebration” on Friday, August 28th.

The annual Keys and Sword Initiative is the principal fundraising effort for the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.

Faithful throughout the Archdiocese are invited to virtually participate in the five-day virtual program. Information about the program will be posted on the Cathedral Basilica’s social media pages, https://instagram.com/cathedralphila/ and https://twitter.com/CathedralPhila , as well as the Keys and Sword Initiative website at www.ksphila.org.

This year, a percentage of the proceeds will benefit the Independence Missions Schools, a non-profit network of 15 independent Catholic schools providing a transformative education to children of all faith traditions in low-income neighborhoods across the city of Philadelphia. The remainder of the proceeds will help support the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul and its ministerial outreach within the parish community.

Each year, the Cathedral Parish holds a premier Gala in support of the Keys and Sword Initiative for members of the local community to enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner, music and fellowship. Due to recent announcements from the City of Philadelphia and circumstances regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, the next in-person Gala will be held on June 25, 2021.
