of Saints Peter and Paul, the Mother Church of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
The Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul will celebrate its 3rd annual Keys and Sword Gala with a cocktail reception, dinner, music and entertainment at The Logan Philadelphia Hotel.

This annual fundraiser and dinner aims at building a culture of financial support to provide for the extraordinary needs of the Cathedral Basilica and the Cathedral Parish. In addition, a percentage of all proceeds will benefit this year’s designated charity, Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School. This year’s goal is $300,000.

The event is black-tie optional and complimentary parking is available at the Cathedral.

Editor’s Notes: The Keys and Sword Gala is a ceremony honoring Catholics who demonstrate outstanding fidelity to the Church and the Gospel. Revitalized in 2017, it offers the opportunity for members of the Catholic community to enjoy an evening of cocktails, dinner, music and fellowship. Keys and Sword aims to build community, to raise funds for a local Catholic charitable organization, and to provide for the financial needs of the Cathedral Parish.
Previous recipients of the Keys and Sword Award include the Cathedral’s longest-tenured rector, Monsignor James J. Howard, Former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey, Dr. Rosalie Mirenda, Past President of Neumann University, Saint Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s religious community, the Missionaries of Charity, and Mr. Robert Sims, a dedicated leader in the Archdiocese for many years. Last year’s recipient was the Sacred Heart Free Cancer Home operated by the Hawthorne Dominican Sisters in Philadelphia.
