Casa del Carmen Family Service Center Receives Donation of 3,500 Diapers and Other Infant Essentials from Lighthouse Family Center for Those Impacted By the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic

Families with infants and young children in North Philadelphia who benefit from Casa Del Carmen Family Service Center, a ministry of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia (CSS), are receiving ongoing assistance in the face of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic thanks to a recent donation of approximately 3,500 diapers and other infant essentials from Lighthouse Family Center located in Kensington.

Members of Lighthouse Family Center recently held a diaper drive to support Casa del Carmen Family Service Center and aid in COVID-19 relief efforts.  All donated items will be distributed to those in need within the local community who have been impacted by the pandemic. Items include diapers, baby wipes, formula, baby food, and other essentials.

Ms. Camille Crane, Administrator at Casa Del Carmen Family Service Center said, “We are so grateful to the Lighthouse Family Center for their kind and generous donation to Casa del Carmen Family Service Center and for the goodness that they bring to children and families in our neighborhood.”

Since the onset of the pandemic, Family Service Centers, part of the Community-Based Services Division of CSS, have provided critical support and emergency assistance including food, diapers, and social services to those in need. Family Service Centers serve as the first point of contact for individuals, families, and parishes when they seek assistance from CSS. Seven such centers are located throughout the five-county metropolitan area.
