Born in Ethiopia, Rev. Mr. Addisalem T. Mekonnen has been serving as a deacon at Mother of the Divine Providence Parish (Montgomery County). He attended Saint Francis de Sales Elementary School and Parkway Gamma High School in Philadelphia. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Divinity Degrees at Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary.

There are seven men from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in the Ordination Class of 2015. Each of the newly ordained priests will be assigned to an Archdiocesan parish where they will serve as parochial vicars. A parochial vicar is a priest appointed by the Archbishop to assist the pastor of a parish.
